H. Reid Jones, Jr. received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1982. He began his real estate career after graduation with Prudential Realty in Raleigh. In 1983, Reid was appointed senior leasing broker by York-Hannover Developments for the 400,000 square foot class A One Hannover Building in downtown Raleigh. There he implemented the leasing and marketing plans for the project. In 1986 he joined Carolantic Realty as a leasing broker, working extensively with owners and tenants, consummating an average of 35 deals each year. While at Carolantic, he handled leasing assignments for owners totaling over 500,000 square feet in numerous projects. In 1990, Reid teamed up with Terry Mikels to form Mikels & Jones Properties, which focused on leasing and income property sales. Reid is an active leasing agent, income property and raw land broker, and lead agent for several more projects in the Triangle area. Reid works with numerous local, regional and national clients. He has extensive knowledge and experience in providing tenant representation services, also providing income producing sales and raw land deals. He has also focused much of his time leasing and selling properties in the downtown area. He has extensive knowledge in the changing dynamics of the Glenwood South/downtown Raleigh real estate market.
Reid is a life long Raleigh resident and is very active in the community having served as president of the Triangle Area Office Building Association, Area Chairman of Ducks Unlimited, participated in fundraising roles for the Salvation Army and Boys Club of Wake County and YMCA.
He has been very active in the ministries of Christ Episcopal Church serving as Senior Warden and serving on the Vestry.
He is married to Coles Hines and they have two children, Reidy and Ruffin.
